The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) welcomed Dr. Kevin R. James, Co-Investigator, Systemic Risk Centre (SRC), London School of Economics(LSE), United Kingdom for his two day visits at NISM Campus, Patalganga from June 23, 2022 to June 24, 2022. His Research Interests are Financial Market Efficiency and Effectiveness, Systemic Risk, Corporate Finance, and Asset Management.

Dr. Kevin delivered an expert session for the Members of Faculty, NISM on “The Growth Slowdown: No Wave or Bad Surfing?” on June 24, 2022. He discussed about his research paper where he hypothesizes that effective financial market regulation can drive ideas, Innovation, Total Factor Productivity Growth to higher levels by taking US & New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) data of 170 years.

In the second half on June 24, 2022, Dr. Kevin had a meeting with the organising committee on the upcoming Third Annual Capital Market Conference in collaboration with Systemic Risk Centre (SRC) at the London School of Economics (LSE). The conference is to be held in Mumbai at the NISM campus on 15-16 December, 2022. Conference Program Schedule, Roles of NISM and SRC- LSE for this conference were also discussed. Various ways in which the two institutions can collaborate to take this strategic partnership to higher levels of research achievements was discussed.

On June 25, 2022, Dr. Kevin delivered the Lecture on “Rebooting Financial Regulation” to our Indian Economic Service (IES) trainees, LLM Students, PGDM Students in hybrid mode. He spent time to clear the doubt of students vigorously. Dr. CKG Nair, Director, NISM appreciated his effort for the “Two days visit to NISM” by presenting him with a small token of appreciation.
