The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

The IMF head for India, Nepal and Bhutan ‘Mr. Andreas Bauer’ has given a special lecture on “World Economic Outlook, implications to India” to all students and faculty members of National Institute of Securities markets (NISM), Mumbai. He has given an excellent insightful on macroeconomic pictures and where India stands along with what India should do to increase its visibility in all over the World. He has also discussed the issues related to trade wars, currency depreciation, Impact of US Fed interest rate hikes and emerging markets balance of payment concerns. Many students and faculty members has asked him questions related to Macroeconomic uncertainties in all over the World. The participants have also raised questions on the possibilities for India to become an example for other countries. Mr. Bauer has shared the e resources (like e publications and online courses) available in IMF website. Most importantly he has shared the availability of career opportunities for the post graduates, M.Phil. and PHD holders in IMF as a research intern.

The programme was held on 15th October 2018 in the NISM Patalganga Campus. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Latha Chari (Dean-SSIR), Mr. Vishal Shukla (Faculty Member) and Mr. Pradiptarathi Panda (Lecturer) of NISM.
