The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is conducting a 10-day Training Programme for Officer Trainees of Indian Economic Service (IES) – batch 2022 and 2023 from October 30 to November 10, 2023 at its NISM Campus, Patalganga.

Thirty Six IES Officers Trainees are attending the training programme. The programme is aimed at familiarization of IES Officers with vital inputs on various aspects of the securities markets. The inaugural event for the Programme was held on October 30, 2023. 

Dr CKG Nair, Director NISM welcomed the participants, delivered the inaugural address and shared his rich experience related to financial sector policy and regulations with the participants.

The 10-day programme is a good blend of technical sessions, trading in simulation lab and visits to regulatory organizations, Stock Exchanges and Depositories viz; SEBI, BSE, NSDL and MCX. Given the expected role of substantial policy formation by the officer trainees in their career, the groundings on the policy regulatory regime in the financial / securities market will help in laying a good foundation for them.
