The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

SEBI organized a Principals’ conclave from March 25-27,2022 at NISM Patalganga Campus. NISM and NCFE were the knowledge partners.

The conclave started on March 25,2022 with the Pre-Dinner talk by Mr. G P Garg, Executive Director, SEBI and Chairman, NCFE who addressed the delegates on Creating a financially aware and empowered India. Shri N Hariharan, Chief General Manager, SEBI and Shri Satyajit Dwivedi, CEO, NCFE were also present during the occasion.

On March 26, 2022, the day started with Yoga session by Shri Ajay Shrivastava, General Manager SEBI. This was followed by technical sessions and Panel discussions.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri S K Mohanty, Whole Time Member, SEBI and Dr. CKG Nair, Director, NISM who inaugurated the conclave by lighting of lamp.  Mr. G P Garg, Executive Director, SEBI and Chairman, NCFE extended a formal welcome to the guests and delegates of the conclave. Shri Mohanty delivered the inaugural and key note address and Dr. Nair delivered the special address.

During the first technical session Shri N Hariharan addressed the delegates on the topic Role of Securities Market to build personal and national wealth. Thereafter Shri Dwivedi spoke on Integration of financial education in school curriculum and enabling teachers to impart financial education. Shri Sunil J Kadam, Registrar, NISM during his session gave an overview on Role played by NISM in capacity building of securities and career opportunities in Securities Markets. This was followed by a Panel discussion on Personal Finance and the panelists were Mr. Amit Trivedi, founder, Karamyog Knowledge Academy and Ms.Kiran Telang, founder, Dhanayush Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd.

After the technical sessions Principals from various institutions shared their experience about the conclave and shared their futuristic plans of creating financial awareness. This was followed by a NISM Campus tour and cultural evening. Around 60 Principals from 22 different states/Union territories of the country were part of the conclave. The Pan India conclave was enriched by key takeaways, which had not only created financial awareness but has also laid solid foundation of implementing the outcome of the conclave.

A Mumbai Darshan tour was also arranged for the Principals who have come from different corners of the country.

The conclave formally concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Shri N Hariharan, Chief General Manager.

The delegates opined that the conclave have given them prolific benefits on how to implement financial literacy in their schools and the importance of financial literacy in Nation building.
