Bringing Knowledge to the Doorsteps of the Underserved
Kotak Securities Limited
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), in collaboration with Kotak Securities Ltd. (KSL), launched “Kona Kona Shiksha”, a flagship CSR initiative under KSL’s focus area of Education and Livelihood.
The objective of this initiative is to promote financial literacy among young citizens of India, especially those in underserved and semi-urban communities, to empower them with essential knowledge and skills for informed financial decision-making.
Aditya Birla Capital Foundation
Financial Literacy for Young Citizens, a CSR initiative by Aditya Birla Capital Foundation in collaboration with NISM, is designed to equip youth—especially from underserved communities—with essential knowledge in personal finance and the securities markets. The program focuses on building a strong foundation in money management, creating awareness about safe investing practices, and developing the ability to critically evaluate financial opportunities. In addition to fostering financial literacy, the initiative opens doors to employment and self-employment in the financial services industry, empowering students with the skills and confidence to explore careers as investment professionals or entrepreneurs in the market ecosystem.
Geojit Foundation
ProdiG is a financial literacy initiative jointly undertaken by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and its CSR partners to empower final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students across Tier I, II, and III cities. The program equips students with essential knowledge in personal finance, the fundamentals of investing in securities markets, and awareness of associated risks and opportunities. ProdiG also focuses on capacity building to evaluate investment options and introduces participants to potential careers and self-employment avenues in the financial services industry. With a strong emphasis on employability, the initiative prepares students to confidently face interviews and explore meaningful opportunities for growth and financial independence.
Project FinLit – In Partnership with Vivriti Capital Ltd.
Project FinLit, supported by Vivriti Capital Ltd. and implemented by NISM, is a targeted financial literacy initiative designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills essential for navigating today’s financial landscape. The program focuses on building awareness around personal finance fundamentals, understanding various financial instruments, and recognizing the risks and precautions involved in investing. It also strengthens students’ ability to evaluate investment opportunities and introduces them to a range of career and self-employment avenues in the financial services sector. Through structured learning and career readiness support, Project FinLit prepares students—particularly in underserved regions—to make informed financial decisions and confidently pursue opportunities in the industry.
Project Nivesh Jyoti – Empowering Youth with Financial Literacy
In partnership with SBI-CAP Securities Limited, Project Nivesh Jyoti is a strategic financial literacy initiative led by NISM to equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required for financial independence and career readiness. The project aims to bridge the skill gap between academic learning and industry expectations in the BFSI sector, preparing students for both employment and entrepreneurial pathways. It focuses on building strong foundations in budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, and responsible financial behaviour. By encouraging active saving habits and participation in financial markets, the initiative fosters long-term financial planning and informed decision-making, empowering young individuals to avoid financial distress and pursue secure, goal-driven futures.
